Prabodh is a Professor and Chair of the Department of Agricultural Business and Education at Tennessee State University. He earned his PhD from the University of Hawaii at Mānoa, an MS from the Norwegian University of Life Sciences, and a BS from the University of Peradeniya in Sri Lanka. With a specialization in production and natural resource economics, Prabodh’s research interests encompass productivity analysis, risk and decision analysis, benefit-cost modeling, economic impact analysis, and environmental valuation. He has also made contributions to the field of bioenergy through his research.

Prabodh has co-authored numerous refereed journal articles and book chapters and has presented his work at both regional and national conferences. His research has been supported by grant funding from USDA-AFRI, USDA-NIFA, USAID, and DOE. His commitment to academia is further demonstrated through his mentorship of students, having overseen numerous thesis projects as both chair and committee member. As the Academic Advisor, he has played a pivotal role in fostering the growth and development of undergraduate students. His dedication to student success has been recognized with several accolades, including the Advisor of the Year award in 2024, the Appreciation of Service to the Department in 2022-23 academic year, Outstanding Teaching Faculty in 2023, and Outstanding Research Faculty in 2018 at the College of Agriculture. He has also received Graduate School recognition for his exceptional guidance of students through their thesis and dissertation processes.
