Transfers and Transients

Your Success Continues Here

Transients

Taking a course at another institution is as important as choosing your home institution. We're happy you chose TSU!

You may see a freshman advisement (A6) hold on your account. To get the hold lifted, contact advisement@tnstate.edu and include your name and T-Number.

For permission to enter a course, please contact the Department for the course you wish to register for at TSU.

Transfers

Thank you for choosing TSU!  We are here to help you transition to the Land of Golden Sunshine!

1. Confirm

Your admission to TSU is just the beginning of your Big Blue Journey. If you are admitted but have not confirmed your intent to enroll, please confirm your intent to enroll by accepting your admission offer in the Future Tiger Portal (admissions portal).

Official transcripts must be sent to the Admissions Office to be evaluated by the Records Office. Immunization and Health Records must be sent to Student Health Services. Confirm receipt of your documents with the appropriate office. Your advisement and registration will be delayed if the required documentation is not submitted to the university.

2. Connect

Transfer Orientation is planned and communicated by the Transfer Initiatives Office. For more information, contact Chelsea Morgan at cmorga18@tnstate.edu or Dr. William Smith at wsmith42@tnstate.edu

3. Compare

Which courses transfer? Want to know what courses may transfer to TSU? Use the Transfer Equivalency System as a guide to compare TSU course equivalencies to other colleges and universities.

Advisors at TSU may use the TES to review transcripts. The Records Office completes all official evaluations and transcript processing.

The TES is subject to change as course content changes over time. Although courses may transfer, they may or may not apply to your degree program. If a course does not appear on the TES list, it may mean an official course equivalency has not been determined yet. Please contact the Records Office for more information.
