Why Study Foreign Languages at TSU?  

Our minor programs in French and Spanish are open to students regardless of major. It is designed to complement any of the University’s degree granting programs. Not only intrinsically valuable, but by learning foreign languages, you will graduate with skills that will make you more employable and better prepared for success after college.

The offerings of the program in French and Spanish are designed to meet the needs of those who are:

  • preparing for careers as secondary teachers of foreign languages
  • desiring positions in business, industry, or government
  • planning to attend graduate school, and
  • satisfying degree requirements for other departments of the University.

Departmental Requirements for the Minor in French or Spanish

To earn a minor in French, you need to complete eighteen (18) hours in French. At least 12 hours should be at the 3000/4000 level.
To earn a minor in Spanish, you need to complete eighteen (18) hours in Spanish. At least 12 hours should be at the 3000/4000 level.
