16-20 hrs/week Position Summary The Residence Hall Work-Study Assistant provides support to the Residence Life staff in creating a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment for students living on campus. This position assists with administrative tasks, community engagement efforts, front desk coverage, and operational support within the residence hall. Key Responsibilities Staff the front desk during assigned shifts, including greeting residents/visitors, answering phones, and monitoring building access. Assist with check-in and check-out processes, including the distribution and collection of keys, paperwork, and room inventories. Provide clerical support such as filing, data entry, and preparing residence hall materials. Support Residence Assistants (RAs) and professional staff with programs, events, and community-building activities. Help maintain an orderly and professional environment at the desk and in common areas. Respond to resident questions and refer concerns to Residence Life staff as appropriate.

Job Description Key Responsibilities: Technology Support: Provide first-level technical assistance to students and faculty using the Smart Center's technology resources, including computer workstations, virtual reality (VR) equipment, 3D printers, and specialized software. Troubleshoot common issues and escalate more complex problems to IT staff. Lab Maintenance: Ensure all technology equipment is operational and well-maintained. Perform regular checks on hardware and software, manage inventory of tech supplies, and keep the lab spaces organized and clean. Software and Systems Assistance: Assist users with navigating and utilizing a variety of software programs, including those related to data analysis, graphic design, and engineering. Help manage user accounts and access permissions for various systems. Administrative and Front Desk Support: Greet visitors, answer phones, and manage the center's calendar. Assist with scheduling appointments for technology consultations and equipment reservations. Project and Event Support: Aid in the setup and execution of technology-focused workshops, webinars, and projects.
