Axiom Record Processing
Helpful Tips
Why Axiom is Used at TSU
TSU has incoming data from many different systems that needs to be inserted into Banner. Axiom is the solution!
For instance, to process undergraduate transcripts, a file is sent from another system to TSU. It processes through Axiom first. Axiom looks in Banner to match up the incoming data with a person record in Banner. If it can't find a match, that record will need a TSU employee to process it through Axiom (this may involve adding data that is missing....or finding the correct match in Banner).
How Axiom Works
Upon entry into Axiom, you are presented with your dashboard. Your Sources show in each box for which you have responsibility. Each Source box contains items that need verification/attention/processing by a TSU employee.
Incoming data from a variety of systems is processed within Axiom (Parchment transcripts, Graduate applications, etc). Axiom attempts to match each incoming record with its proper person record in Banner. There are 3 possible outcomes from this matching-processing:
- match
- no match
- possible matches
So the TSU employee must verify & process the records that had matching or data issues within Axiom.
Verification tasks to complete:
- processes non-matches
- fix issues/errored-data (highlighted in red)
- enter missing data (GPA, for example)
- OPTIONAL - flag a record (add notes for another employee to see...OR for you to see later)
