Theatre Performance-Based Scholarships

Eligibility Criteria

Must be a Communications Major
Must be enrolled as a full-time student (12 hours or more)
Must perform 150 hours per semestter of work towards theatre programs
Must have a cumulative, college-level GPA of 2.5 or above
Must have completed eight (8) hours in the major
Students must have out-of-state status

Application Process

Get an application from Communications Departmental Office (Rm 105 PAC)
Complete the Scholarship Application
Write a one page Personal Statement on how your participation in the department is preparing you for your life goals.
Get two letters of recommendation. At least one must be from a Communications faculty or professional staff member from whom you took a class, or who supervised some of your work or a project.
Submit the complete scholarship application, including letters of recommendation and resume (if included) before the deadline to the departmental office, Rm. 105 PAC

Mass Communications Scholarships

Getahn Ward Memorial Journalism Scholarship

Eligibility Criteria

• Must be a Communications Major - emphasis in Journalism
• Must be enrolled as a full-time student (12 hours or more)
• Must have a cumulative, college-level GPA of 3.0 or above
• Must have completed nine (9) hours in the major

Application Process

Complete the Scholarship Application
Write a one-page Personal Statement on your goals as a media professional.
Get two letters of recommendation. At least one must be from a Communications faculty or professional staff member from whom you took a class, or who supervised some of your work or a project.
Submit the complete scholarship application, including letters of recommendation and resume (if included) before the deadline to Mass Comm. Coordinator Dr. Karen Russell, PAC 114, krussel4@tnstate.edu.
