AOL SEEKS MUSIC COPY-EDITOR IN N.Y.C.
AOL is currently hiring a music editor to work alongside its Music Managing Editor in the company's N.Y.C. hub. Duties include but are not limited to maintaining the voice and integrity of AOL's Music Blog with timely publishing, producing original editorial, complying with SEO standards and more. BMI STUDENT COMPOSER COMPETITION
BMI has announced the opening of the 60th annual BMI Student Composer Awards competition. The competition, which is co-sponsored by BMI and the BMI Foundation, will award $20,000 in prizes. Student composers under the ages of 28 who are citizens of the Western Hemisphere (North, South and Central America, the Caribbean Island Nations, and the Hawaiian Islands) may apply. All entries must be postmarked no later than Feb. 10, 2012. There are no limitations as to instrumentation, style or length of work submitted. The prizes, which range from $500 to $5,000, are awarded at the discretion of the final judging panel and compositions are judged completely under pseudonyms. Future of Music Coalition is currently accepting interns for its next three semesters. Future of Music is a national non-profit education, research and advocacy organization that identifies, examines, interprets and translates the challenging issues at the intersection of music, law, technology and policy.
