Chemistry Bachelor of Science Degree Program

Bachelor of Science in Chemistry- an ACS Approved Program

The curriculum for a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematical Science in Chemistry consists of a minimum of 120 semester hours which must include at least 42 hours at the 3000 or 4000 level. Along with 43 semester hours of General Education requirements, 35-59 semester hours of chemistry courses are required depending on concentrations. There are 4 different concentrations are available for the students. Students choose their concentrations based on future goals.

The students are also required to take courses in al 5 areas of chemistry in addition to General Chemistry, such as Analytical, Biochemistry, Inorganic, Organic and Physical Chemistry. Due to various concentrations and pre-requisite structures, each chemistry major should consult with a major advisor within the department or the Department Head. All chemistry majors must earn a 'C' or better in all chemistry courses.

SUGGESTED FOUR YEAR PLAN:
Courses labeled with an asterisk represent approved general education courses from the areas of Humanities, Social Sciences, and Natural Sciences. Such courses may be substituted with other courses from their respective areas of the approved general education course list found in the undergraduate catalog. Students seeking a degree in Chemistry should consult the departmental undergraduate coordinator, Dr. Joshua Moore, for guidance in developing a specific plan of matriculation.
