The First 100 Days Report

Dr. Glenda Baskin Glover began serving as the eighth president of Tennessee State University following a unanimous vote by the Tennessee Board of Regents. Excitement filled the air as word quickly spread that the Memphis, Tenn., native would soon return to her alma mater in the top leadership position. Glover, a 1974 TSU graduate, was selected after an extensive nationwide search that began in the earlier part of 2012.

The hallmark of President Glover's approach has been unity and inclusion from the beginning. With the understanding that TSU students are the focus of all University activity, a vision was advanced that set the stage for the future, and included five goals: (1) Student Success and Customer Service; (2) Fund Raising and Partnerships; (3) Diversity and Inclusion; (4) Shared Governance; and (5) Business and Community Outreach.

A licensed attorney and certified public accountant, Glover earned her bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from TSU, an MBA from Clark Atlanta University, the J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center and her Ph.D. in business economics and policy from George Washington University.
