Take advantage of the convenience of campus living! The Department of Residence Life encourages all students to take advantage of the benefits of residing in university housing. Offering single sex, co-ed, and apartment-style living, there is a residential facility that fits the needs for all Tennessee State University students.

There are two apartment facilities at Tennessee State University, Ford Residential Complex and the New Residence Center located on Heiman Street. Students living in the apartment-style housing facilities will enjoy the convenience of campus living, while being able to experience the benefits of an apartment home and community. Each apartment is fully furnished and equipped with a kitchen, stove, dinette set, blinds, and refrigerator. Applications open on April 1 of each spring semester, students must have 60 or more credit hours at the end of the Spring semester to apply to reside in our campus apartments for the Fall semester.

Regardless of the style of housing your student choose they will be afforded several amenities. Each residence facility offers internet and cable access, barber and beauty salons, study rooms, community lounges, and full-service laundry. Living in TSU housing offers a chance to build a community, not just a place to sleep.
