- “Glycosaminoglycan oligosaccharides and inflammation”, submitted Fall 2007 to NIH; budget requested was $1,219,883; not approved

- “Testing anti-inflammatory properties of nanoparticles of gold generated by cartilage tissue or chondroitin sulfate” subaward proposal to the main proposal “Defining nanomaterial-biological interactions to enhance biocompatibility and biomedical applications” as submitted by collaborators at Oregon State University; budget of subaward requested was $119,352; proposal was approved, but budget had to be amended.
