Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in Architectural Engineering

Tennessee State University, College of Engineering invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the Department of Civil and Architectural Engineering, with a Fall 2022 starting date. We are seeking exceptional candidates to supplement the Architectural Engineering program in a specialty area of Building Mechanical Systems and Building Energy Efficiency.

Minimum Qualifications: A Ph.D. degree in architectural engineering, mechanical engineering or closely related discipline. Candidate must be qualified to teach courses in the core curriculum of the Architectural Engineering program with demonstrated college level teaching skills in mechanical (HVAC) and Lighting areas and research skills within the specialization.

Preferred Qualifications: Relevant industry experience and professional registration (e.g., PE, LEED, PMP l); and knowledge about ABET accreditation process.

Responsibilities: Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in the area of architectural engineering (building systems- mechanical/electrical/plumbing); advising undergraduate and graduate students; developing and maintaining a sponsored research program; publishing research results in the peer-reviewed journals and proceedings; and providing service to the department, college, university, the industries, and professional organizations.
