  • Which students can use the Writing Hub?
    • Any graduate student currently enrolled at TSU can use the services offered through the Writing Hub.
  • How much do the Writing Hub services cost?
    • The services offered by the Writing Hub are free of charge to current graduate students.
  • Do I need to have a draft of my assignment before I make an appointment?
    • No, but it is highly recommended that students have a draft before their appointment. This will allow the writing facilitators to make a stating point of reference to assis t with writing help and critique.
  • How long is a graduate writing consultation/ appointent?
    • Appointments are typically 45-50 minutes long. However, if more time is needed a follow-up session can be scheduled at the conclusion of the session.
  • How many appoitments can I make perday/week?
    • There is no limit on the number of appointments you can make per day/week.
  • How far ahead in the calendar can I make appointments? Can I male an appointment for the same day?
    • Students can make appointments on the same day if there is availability.
  • I do not see anyone from my department/field; can the Writing Hub still help me?
    • Yes, the Writing Hub faciliators can assist students accross disciplines.
  • Can a faciliator help me with my grammar?
    • Yes, facilitators can help with grammar.
  • Will a facilitator proofread my draft and tell me what to fix?
    • The facilitators can assist with improving the document; however, proofreading will occur ona case-by-cae bases.
  • Can I email or drop off my draft and get it back later with comments?
    • No, the session is meant to be engaging and collaborative and as such require face-to-face or virtual interaction.
  • Do you have a waiting list for appointments?
    • No, there is no waiting list for appointments. Students may schedule appointments for time slots that are available only.
  • Is there any kind of writing a facilitator cannot help with?
    • No, currently the facilitators should be able to assist with writing or point students to various writing resources that will be beneficial to them.
  • Can I audio or video record my appointment?
    • Yes, with advance permission of the facilitator.
