Dr. Beverly Brown

Bio: In 1985, Dr. Brown completed her MSN in Maternal/Child (Parent/Infant)/Midwifery from Meharry Medical College, Nashville, TN. In 1997, she became board certified as a Gerontological Clinical Nurse Specialist. In 2003, she completed her Doctorate in Leadership and Higher Education from Nova Southeastern University, Fort Lauderdale Florida. She is master’s prepared in community health from Hampton University, Hampton, VA. She has completed other graduate course work at North Carolina Central University, University of Chapel Hill, Vanderbilt/Peabody College, and other doctoral courses at Tennessee State University. Her BSN is from North Carolina Central University (1977).
In 1988, she joined the US Navy Reserves Nurse Corps Officers program where she remained until September 18, 2012 when she retired with a rank of Commander after being affiliated with the US Navy for 25 years. In one of her last active duty assignments in the US Navy, she considered it a privilege to have been asked by the Nurse Admiral to serve from October, 2008 to June, 2009 as a Senior Program and Subject Matters Expert Liaison between The Department of Defense (Pentagon) and The Department of Veterans Affairs in Washington, DC in the Federal Recovery Coordination Program. This was a program mandated by Congress in October 2007 for the seriously wounded, the serious injured, and the chronically ill for all branches of military service. Finally, she is a license affiliated broker with an inactive license. She recently completed the trainings associated with becoming an ACVE and ATI Champion.
