Supporting all Areas of Vocal and Instrumental Music Performance and Education

Located in Music City U.S.A., the music industry capital of the world, the Department of Music offers a variety of degrees specializing in music education, performance, and business . The department also offers the M.Ed. in Curriculum & Instruction-Music  as well as a  Minor in Music  for students majoring in other disciplines.

The Department of Music supports a full complement of vocal and instrumental performance ensembles and opportunities, including the Orchestra, Tennessee State University Choir   Meistersingers  , Symphonic and Concert Band, Jazz Collegians, Percussion Ensemble, Pep Band, the TSU  Aristocrat of Bands  marching band, and a host of small vocal and mixed- and like-instrument ensembles. Each year, the Opera Workshop mounts at least one opera including sets, costumes, and orchestra. The Commercial Music Ensemble compliments these traditional groups by providing instruction and performance in contemporary, popular music styles.

[CA(1]Hyperlink to pdf of requirements – maybe a good way to introduce the new senior recital process?

[CA(3]I would suggest making this into several separate links – NASM to NASM, Tenn Dept Ed to their site, NCATE to the NCATE site.
