College of Engineering General Scholarship Application

This application allows students to be considered for any available scholarships that the College of Engineering is responsible for awarding.  If an applicant meets the specified criteria for a specific scholarship and provides a complete application they will be considered.   Please note, many of the scholarships are need base and nonrefundable, which is why you have to specify your need and upload a copy of your account summary in this application.
Students awarded a scholarship will have to agree to fulfill the requirements of the scholarship to which they are awarded.  These requirements will be specified before the scholarship is awarded to the chosen scholar via award letter.  Inability to uphold your requirements as a scholarship recipient in the College of Engineering will eliminate you from consideration of future scholarships from the College.

Tennessee Minority Engineering Scholarship Application

The Tennessee Minority Engineering Scholarship (MES) aims to increase the number of undergraduate minority students completing engineering and engineering technology degrees by reducing their academic-associated financial burden.

Eligible Students have to meet the following criteria:
    • Enrolled as a full-time student (registered for 12 hours or more)
    • Domiciled (permanent resident) of Tennessee
    • Have completed at least sixty (60) credit hours towards their degree
    • Identify either as a racial or ethnic minority
    • Pursuing an Undergraduate degree in one of the following disciplines
        ◦ Applied and Industrial Technologies
        ◦ Architectural Engineering
        ◦ Civil Engineering
        ◦ Electrical Engineering
        ◦ Mechanical Engineering

The USDA_NRCS grant is provided to engage engineering students in soil and water conservation and management.  The USDA_NCRS Scholarship requires scholars commit to being available every Friday morning, time TBD, for two semesters. Maximum award is $5000/semester and the amount is determined by the need and is non-refundable.  Students are not guaranteed funding in the spring semester, funding is dependent on performance in the Fall semester. 

Fall applications are due by August 31th, 2021 by 11:59pm cst.  
Spring applications are due by January 7th, 2022 by 11:59pm cst. (Based on Scholarship Availability)   

Scholarship Criteria

  • Registered for a minimum of 15 credit hours in semester of scholarship
  • G.P.A. 3.0 or higher
  • College of Engineering Undergraduate Student
