Tennessee CyberInfrastructure Symposium
April 3rd and 4th at Tennessee State University
Sponsored by NSF EPSCoR grant EPS-091943 and TNSCORE
The importance of computing is growing quickly in every domain science, driving the next generation of knowledge discovery. Computing matters, as it has become an integral part of not only the scientific community but also the general population on a daily basis, pushing the requirement for a comprehensive Cyber-Infrastructure (CI). This CI symposium will focus on educating both students and faculty to enhance their desktop applications into programs that run on computing clusters and eventually on supercomputers, to advance their data analysis to higher orders of magnitude. The workshop will feature successful projects utilizing high-performance computing (HPC) facilities as examples to educate the audience. The audience will also be introduced to HPC resources that are available within the state of Tennessee and at nationwide NSF-funded supercomputing facilities -- available to the scientific research community for free.
Conference Highlights
HPC Training Session on April 3, 2013
The pre-workshop hands-on training sessions will introduce students and faculty to introductory parallel programming modules on National Institute for Computational Sciences (NICS) high performance computing (HPC) architectures along with providing insights into scientific computing on a larger scale .
Symposium Meeting on April 4, 2013
If you have questions, you may contact workshop organizers Tamara Rogers (CS, TSU) or Bhanu Rekepalli (NICS, EECS, UTK) for further assistance.
