TSU Students Win 7 Awards

@ Nashville's 48 Hour Film Challenge

This summer, Nashville’s 48 Hour Film Project had over fifty teams of filmmakers all racing to meet the deadline to write, shoot, and edit a short film in just 48 hours. Among those teams was Team Perfection. Members included both current TSU students and recently graduated TSU students, most of whom were from the Department of Communications.

Each team participating in the 48 Hour Film Project was assigned a genre, a character, prop, and line of dialogue to include in their film. Team Perfection took their assignment and produced a seven-minute film entitled Dave and Pearl, a touching comedy about two friends determined to make it to the birthday party of a lifetime. Along the way, the two are met with various challenges that threaten their arrival to the party and their friendship. The challenges however lead them to discover true friendship.

At the Nashville 48 Hour Film Project’s Awards Ceremony, Team Perfection walked away with seven awards including:

Best Directing, Best Screenplay, Best Actor: Terrance Kendrick, Best Supporting Actor: Aaron McGee,

1st Runner Up: Writing, 1st Runner Up: Cinematography, 2nd Runner Up: Best Film.

This was a big night for recognizing the talent coming out of Tennessee State University.
