Workload Requirements

  • All Graduate Assistants MUST work 20 hours per week IN PERSON
    • There are no virtual or remote work options
  • Graduate Assistants may only hold 1 assistantship at a time per university policy

Assistantship Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for a graduate assistantship, students must:

  • Have unconditional acceptance to the graduate school and degree program
  • Enroll in a minimum of 9 credit hours for both Fall & Spring semesters
  • Maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Master's students are eligible for up to 2 years maximum of support
  • Doctoral students are eligible for up to 4 years maximum of support

Program Expectations

Graduate assistants are expected to:

  • Attend mandatory orientation prior to the start of the semester
  • Complete & submit a signed assistantship contract along with supporting documents annually
  • Perform all duties in person, adhering to the 20 hour weekly requirement
  • Attend monthly mentoring sessions & meetings
