Our Mission

Tennessee State University's Testing Center supports the mission of the University by promoting and providing high quality customer and testing services to students, faculty and the community that demonstrates value in human relationships, personal excellence, human dignity, diversity, and commitment to lifelong learning. The Testing Center is committed to maintaining professional testing standards and practices, safeguarding the confidentiality of student records and creating an optimal testing environment in accordance with Tennessee State University and the National College Testing Association professional standards and guidelines.


The TSU Testing Center assists the University's academic programs by administering:                                                                                                                                     

  • Paper-and-pencil tests
  • Computer-administered standardized tests

It addresses needs of the University community via:

  • Admissions tests
  • Distance learning
  • Workforce development
  • Credentialing & licensing examinations

Services provided through the Testing Center are available to all:

  • TSU students
  • Members of the community

Government-issued, photo-bearing identification with signature is REQUIRED for all tests. TSU student identification will be considered acceptable for the Senior Exit, Major Field Tests, and TN eCampus examinations.

The Testing Center provides special accommodations for test candidates with appropriately documented disabilities.  Candidates should carefully review the candidate registration/information booklet from the test publisher to determine what documentation is required for special accommodations to be granted.  Students who believe they qualify for special accommodations should contact the TSU Office of Disability Services for assistance with this process.


Test locations vary by date and test; so check the Testing Schedule and/or your email confirmation carefully for the location of your test!
