Tennessee State University’s College of Agriculture has announced plans for a new Environmental Sciences Building that will serve as a central hub for environmental teaching, research, and Extension activities within the Department of Environmental Sciences. Part of a combined 110,000-square-foot complex shared with the Food and Animal Sciences Building, the new facility will feature state-of-the-art research and teaching laboratories, classrooms, lecture halls, and shared workspaces designed to support high-impact, research-based learning and experiential training for students. The building will also help house future centers such as the One Health Center, Soil Health Center, and Water Management Center, strengthening TSU’s capacity to address critical environmental and agricultural challenges facing Tennessee and beyond. Construction began in fall 2025 at the corner of Schrader Lane and Dr. Walter S. Davis Boulevard, with a targeted opening in the 2026–2027 academic year.
