Welcome to the Master of Science in Data Science program at Tennessee State University. This program is carefully designed by an interdisciplinary group of faculty members from the College of Engineering, the College of Life and Physical Sciences, the College of Agriculture, and the College of Business with tremendous support from our industry partners. Our faculty is impressively active in research with grants from funding agencies including National Science Foundation (NSF), National Institute of Health (NIH), Department of the Army, Department of Defense (DoD), United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) as well as several many other organizations.

Even though the term Data Science is relatively new, it is a fast-growing field with enormous career opportunities. Glassdoor ranked Data Science as the best job in America for four years in a row. The US Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates that there will be over 11 million jobs in data science by 2026. As increased availability of computational power with cloud computing, data scientists are getting more in demand. The MS in DS Program at TSU produces data scientists who are ready to be employed locally, nationally, of globally.

The Master of Science in Data Science program welcomes candidates from all disciplines with some minimal prerequisite in mathematics and computer programming. A well-educated data scientist completing our program will be very competitive globally. Considering the fact that there is huge demand for data scientists in various industries including healthcare, medicine, finance, information technology, manufacturing, telecommunication and many others, it is time for you to apply for an exciting career!
