MS in DS

The Master of Science in Data Science program is housed in the Department of Computer Science at Tennessee State University. However, it includes an interdisciplinary group of faculty from Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Biology, Business Administration, and Agricultural Sciences. The MS in DS faculty is impressively active in research, attracting grant funding of over $7M as principal investigators over the last six years. All faculty members are extensively engaged with the field in developing their expertise spanning in data sciences, cybersecurity, computer networks, artificial intelligence, and bioinformatics.

The MS in DS curriculum has ten courses: four required courses, five elective courses, and one capstone course. The courses must be completed within five years. Students must have prerequisite courses in calculus, statistics or linear algebra, and computer programming. While all courses are delivered online, students can choose to take up to three on-ground courses to be completed in a single semester.
