Registering Your Vehicle

Acquiring Parking Hangtag

All TSU students and employees who will be parking on the TSU campus are required every year to register or re-register their vehicles and obtain a TSU parking hangtag.

vehicle STEP 1  -REGISTER YOUR VEHICLE

All students and employees must register their vehicles online each year.

STUDENTS
Students must make sure they are registered for their classes and all holds removed and fees paid. (The cost of one student hangtag is already included in the General Access Fee of student tuition).

STUDENT HANDICAPPED PARKING
Students applying for handicapped parking must first register with the Office of Disability Services in Kean Hall/Student Center Rm 117, 963-7400. These students must have a copy of their handicapped placard, driver’s license, and state vehicle registration at the time of receiving a hangtag.

 *** Please note that the fine for parking in a Handicapped parking space without the proper permit is $200.00.

TO REGISTER YOUR VEHICLE, click on the "Register My Vehicle" link below and enter your ID card number (10-digit # above name on ID card) then follow the instructions as requested.  Use all uppercase letters.  If you have previously registered your vehicle, list it again on the next available line.

STEP 2  -PAY FEE

STUDENTS
Students must make sure they are registered for their classes and all holds removed and fees paid. (The cost of one student hangtag is already included in the General Access Fee of student tuition, so students do not need to pay for their tag.)

FACULTY & STAFF
The cost of a GENERAL employee parking hangtag is $65.55.

The cost of a RESERVED employee parking hangtag is $163.88. You must first contact Auxiliary Services at (615) 963-1482 regarding the specific lot you are interested in before paying, as reserved parking is subject to availability.

Employees who are students may use their student hangtags.  However, in order to park in spaces restricted to faculty and staff, they must purchase the employee hangtag.

Any hangtag that is lost, stolen, or destroyed will be replaced by a Temporary Parking Permit for the remainder of the year. The permit may be obtained by: 1) Filing a police report with TSUPD detailing the circumstances surrounding the loss. 2) Obtain a copy of the report when it becomes available. 3) Bring your University Identification card, state vehicle registration, drivers license, and a copy of the police report to TSU Police Department 3510 W. Heiman Street (between Ford Complex Apts. and the New Resident Complex Apts.)  A Temporary Parking Permit cannot be issued if you have outstanding parking fines.

STEP 3  -PICKUP HANGTAG

After registering your vehicle, you may pick up your parking hangtag at two different locations:

1) During registration-week:  you may pick up your car hangtag in Kean Basement (near  RM 035).

2) After registration-week:  you must pick up your car hangtag here:
TSU Police Department
3510 W. Heiman Street
(between Ford Complex Apts. and the New Resident Complex Apts.)

* Please bring your driver’s license and vehicle registration with you.

HANDICAPPED STUDENTS
Handicapped students must have a copy of their handicapped placard and driver’s license at the time of receiving their hangtag.

HANDICAPPED EMPLOYEES
Employees needing handicapped parking must present proof of certification to the Traffic Coordinator when picking up your hangtag.
