Kourtney Daniels

Class of 2017 | College of Agriculture, Human and Natural Sciences |
Agricultural Sciences with a concentration in Food Technology

student profile

Kourtney Daniels is an Agricultural Sciences major concentrating in Food Technology from Hendersonville, Tenn. by way of Chicago. She decided on attending TSU not only because she received a full scholarship, but also because she has several family members that have attended the University dating back to the Tennessee A&I State Normal School days. She knew TSU had a “wonderful” agricultural program and that it provided, “the best opportunity for her to grow as an individual.”

Kourtney selected her major for three reasons: she did not know what she wanted to study; she loves food; and has a strong desire to help people. With that in mind, Kourtney decided the Food Technology program would best suit her needs.

She is well on her way to academic success having recently been named the Outstanding Undergraduate Student in the Department of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences. Kourtney plans on going to graduate school and hopes to obtain a career with the USDA or with a privatized food corporation.

“TSU and the CAHNS have been truly a blessing to me during my first year as a freshman,” Kourtney said. “Every opportunity that I have been able to experience is due to the hardworking faculty and staff of this institution. They saw my potential and are making it their goal to help bring it out of me.”
