journeyThe Journey to 120 Hours: Preparing First-Generation Students for Success in Health Sciences and STEM activity is focused on supporting first-generation Health Sciences and STEM students. This Activity helps them to identify and further develop the elements needed to succeed in college and to experience their best lives. This activity creates experiences that increase performance, address the inner student, supports a culture of excellence, and produces individuals whose lives are transformed through their collegiate experience. Utilizing learning outcomes that intersect at the needs of the student, institution, and industry, this activity will help students learn more about themselves and in so doing, actualize their potential and realize their academic possibilities. Journey to 120 Hours centers on increasing the number of students who persist to obtain a STEM or Health Sciences degree utilizing the life design catalyst SPARCK principle: Story, Purpose, Aspiration, Reflection, Connection, and Kick-Start (Johnson, 2018).
