Harold R. Mitchell Speech & Language Clinic
The TSU Department of Speech Pathology and Audiology provides speech and language services to persons with communication disabilities through the Harold R. Mitchell Speech & Language Clinic.
The clinic is located on the Avon Williams Campus near Downtown Nashville.

Interested Clients
If you are interested in receiving services from the Harold R. Mitchell Speech & Language Clinic, please use the application links below.
Speech and language therapy sessions are scheduled by appointment on Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday between the hours of 9 A.M. and 5 P.M. Therapy sessions are scheduled on the hour. Speech and language diagnostic sessions are by appointment only.

Payment for Services
Diagnostic and therapy services are provided at a flat rate of $65 per semester. This fee is not prorated or reduced due to client absences. In cases of demonstrated financial hardship, a sliding scale may be applied based on family size and gross monthly income. Tennessee State University employees, faculty, students, and their immediate families are eligible for services at no cost, regardless of income level.

Clinicians
Graduate students and advanced-level undergraduate students in the Department of Speech Pathology and Audiology provide screenings, diagnostic and therapy services to clients in the Harold R. Mitchell Speech & Language Clinic under the supervision of clinical educators who hold the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association (ASHA) Certificate of Clinical Competence in speech-language pathology.
