Call for Abstracts

Required Information

student on campus The application deadline for submitting conference abstracts closed on February 29th. We have received and considered excellent submissions, 180 abstracts at this time. To fill the voids in topic areas, we will only accept and consider abstract submissions based on quality of content and space availability in the following areas:

  • Food Safety,
  • Urban Farming,
  • Processing Facilities,
  • Working with Immigrant Farmers,
  • Slaughter Facilities,
  • Farm Workers,
  • Transportation and Distribution,
  • Value-added Agriculture,
  • Community Supported Agriculture,
  • Cultural Communication,
  • Agritourism,
  • Technology Adoption,
  • Aquaculture,
  • Serving Unserved and Underserved Farmers,
  • High Tunnel/Season Extenders,
  • Effective Program Delivery,
  • Developing Cooperatives,
  • Debt Management and Financial Crisis,
  • Fiber and Biofuel Crops, and
  • Non‐traditional and Emerging C rops

 

We are also seeking submissions for exhibit displays (at no additional cost), success stories, and poster paper presentations. Abstract submissions for presentation considerations can be sent to shaile@tnstate.edu in MS‐word format only using the  attached template.

Information required for abstracts on oral and poster papers, success stories and exhibits include:

* Title of presentation

* Complete contact information

* Presenting author and affiliation

* Other author(s) and affiliation(s)

* Selected topic area

* Abstract of 250 words or less

Please identify the type of submission by checking the box option for your submission (s). Please indicate in the abstract form if submission is for oral, poster, exhibit or success story * Please submit in Times New Roman

An abstract is indicative of final paper quality; therefore, authors are urged to prepare quality abstracts. The abstract should emphasize purpose, objectives, methods, results, and conclusion. Stating results will not be needed in abstract submissions for exhibits since you will primarily be describing the information contained in the Exhibit Display.

Review of Abstract Submissions: A review committee will consider all abstracts submitted in the above topic areas. Decisions will be made and all successful applicants will be sent guidelines to submit conference presentations.
