Thomas Davis
Music Appreciation
Thomas L. Davis serves as Assistant Professor of Music and coordinator of Music appreciation at Tennessee State University. For over 30 years his teaching assignments have included applied percussion, music appreciation and percussion techniques. As a performer he has worked with over 200 commercial artists in various genres of the music industry, including theater, orchestral, club and concert engagements around the United States and Europe. Throughout his career Mr. Davis has served as an arranger, marching band drill designer, guest conductor, clinician and band festival judge. Currently he serves as associate producer and talent coordinator of Bobby Jones Gospel on Black Entertainment Television and The Word Network. Originally from Baton Rouge, LA he holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Southern University and a Master of Music degree from Michigan State University. His professional affiliations include the Music Educators National Conference, the Percussive Arts Society, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, Kappa Kappa Psi National Honorary Band Fraternity, Tau Beta Sigma National Honorary Band Sorority, Kappa Phi Kappa, and Kappa Alpha Psi.
