Belinda Laupp


Belinda (Bee) Laupp has been teaching for 35 of the 41+ years she has played flute.  Mrs. Laupp earned her BME from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL and has done postgraduate work at Washington University in St. Louis, MO.  Before moving from St. Louis to the Nashville area in 1979, she had been a band director and held principal chairs in the Webster Symphony and University City Symphony. Mrs. Laupp also played with the St. Louis Philharmonic Symphonic Orchestra, Bel Canto Orchestra, as well as with various other ensembles including the Deutschmeister Brass Band.  Mrs. Laupp also was a member and publicity chair of the Flute Society of St. Louis.

In Nashville for almost 25 years, Mrs. Laupp was co-owner of Laupp’s Band Emporium, a business specializing in band instrument repairs and merchandise.  She has also been a member of the Nashville Community Band and Orchestra, Trevecca Community Orchestra, and the Nashville Winds.  Currently, Ms. Laupp is a member of the Nashville Wind Ensemble and the Nashville Flute Choir.  She teaches in at area schools and in her home studio, and is a freelance musician.


Flutists with whom Mrs. Laupp has studied include Walfred Kujala, Louis Dixon, Janet Scott, Keith Bryan, and Max Schoenfleld.  She also performed in a master class with Donald Peck.
