How to Apply

  1. Click on the link above and fill out the form.

  2. Pay the $40 application fee (this fee is non-refundable).

  3. Email us (iec@tnstate.edu):

    • A copy of your photo ID, Passport, or U.S. Driver's License

    • A copy of your high school diploma or other school certificate

    • Your home address

  4. You will receive a Letter of Admission from the IEC.

Applying for an F1 Student Visa

Before we can send you the Acceptance Letter and Form I-20, you need to complete the application process above and send us:

  • A bank statement and affidavit of support or financial guarantee from your sponsor

  • Health forms

Then:

  1. We will send your Form I-20 and Acceptance Letter.

  2. You can apply for an F1 visa at your nearest U.S. Embassy.

  3. Go to your visa interview.

Once your visa is approved, email us to confirm your Placement Test appointment.

Registration

  1. Take the IEC Placement Test.

  2. Check your email for your English level and available courses.

  3. Email us to tell us which courses you will take.

F1 and Full-Time students must take all classes at their assigned level.

Enrollment Steps

  1. You will receive a confirmation email and your weekly class schedule.

  2. Pay your tuition or send your financial guarantee. (Late fees apply if payment is late.)

  3. Attend the Orientation Session and Campus Tour.

  4. Fill out all IEC forms.

  5. Get your TSU student ID card, parking permit, and other important instructions.

  6. Start your classes!

Withdrawals and Refunds

  • 100% refund: Before the first day of the session

  • 75% refund: From the 1st day to the 5th day of the session

  • 25% refund: From the 6th day to the 10th day of the session

  • No refund: After the 11th day of the session

The session begins with the Orientattion Session. If the University cancels a class, you will receive a full refund. If you are dismissed or suspended for any reason, no refund will be given.
