DOES TENNESSEE STATE UNIVERSITY HAVE AN EMERGENCY PLAN?

Yes, Tennessee State University has a comprehensive emergency plan. It involves emergency procedures at every level of the University and is constantly reviewed and updated. The Emergency Management Office is working on making an electronic version of the plan available online.

 

WHAT IS THE BEST WAY FOR FACULTY, STAFF AND STUDENTS TO GET INFORMATION DURING AN EMERGENCY?

During an emergency, Tennessee State University has numerous ways to disperse important messages. Emergency information is posted on the TSU homepage. You can also subscribe to Tiger Alert, Tennessee State University’s Facebook and Twitter for important information. Phone calls, emails and text are sent to all Tennessee State University Tiger Alert accounts during an emergency.

 

DOES TENNESSEE STATE UNIVERSITY CONDUCT FIRE DRILLS?

Yes, the Office of Emergency Management organize and conduct fire drills periodically each semester in every residence hall.

 

HOW DO I REPORT AN EMERGENCY?

During an emergency, always call 9-1-1 or if you are using a campus phone dial ext. 5171.

 

AS A PARENT, HOW CAN I BE PREPARED?

It's very important to stay updated with what is going on. Ready.gov and the American Red Cross have many tools and information on developing your own family plan. Parents are also encouraged to follow Tennessee State University’s social media pages and sign up for tiger alerts.

 

WHERE ARE THE AED LOCATIONS ON CAMPUS?
