Information Desk & Campus Police

Information DeskTennessee State University Police Department provides security to the students, faculty, staff, and visitors of AWC 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Our Information Desk is your resource for contacting the Campus Police, parking issues, directions, and other general information as needed.   Regular Hours: Mon-Thurs, 11:30 am - 8:00 pm and Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. Weekend Hours: Saturday, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm.   For immediate assistance please see staff in Room 323 (One-Stop-Shop) or Room 339 (Center for Extended Education). CLOSED ON SUNDAY.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS...

Q: Where can I obtain information or assistance when the Information Desk is closed?

Answer:
Go to the Administrative Office for the Avon Williams Campus located in the Center for Extended Education  Suite M200 on the 2nd floor. The entrance is next to the Information Desk and marked by a glass wall and door reading "Administration."  



Q:
How do I obtain a parking permit?

Answer: Go to the information desk on the 3rd floor near the main entrance (when entering the building from McLemore). From the main elevators, the information desk can be seen to in the far left corner of the atrium.



Q:
How much does it cost to park at the Williams Campus?
 
Answer: You may inquire about the cost of parking at the information desk. You may need to provide a photo identification or student ID in order to obtain a parking permit.



Q:
If I have a decal issued to me by the main campus am I able to park at the Williams Campus also?
 
Answer: You should only park in the designated spaces according to the type of permit. Should you require a permit for the main campus, you will need to contact Parking and Security on the main campus.



Q:
How can I reserve class space or obtain access the current room assignments?

Answer: You should check with the information desk on the third floor of the Williams Campus to inquire about space and/or room assisgnments. Changes to room assignments must be made in writing to the Center of Extended Education (M200).


PARKING, VEHICLE LOCK-OUT, AND SECURITY

Overflow Parking:
In the event our main parking lot is full, you may utilize the parking spaces to the right of the guard shack when entering the parking lot from 10th Avenue North. Vehicle/Office
 
Lock-Out Service: Please see the information desk in order to contact an outside vendor who specializes in "lock-out" service (approximately: $45. Costs will vary). Police officers will not attempt to unlock or open locked vehicles. 
 
After Hours Parking and Building Access: Security or Campus Police are available to escort you to your vehicle after dark. You may contact an officer by seeing personnel at the information desk or by calling: 963-5171. There are three options for parking after 5 o'clock (1) Street Parking on McLemore--no toll parking during evening hours (2) AWC Parking Lot--all spaces may be utilized (3) The State Parking Lot--spaces located at the corner of 10th Avenue North and Charlotte Avenue.
