Growing plants more efficiently
The horticulture program has four areas
of research emphasis: 1) investigate physiological processes associated with
horticultural characteristics such as cold and heat tolerance and water stress,
2) address problems associated with field and container production of quality
nursery plants, including the development of environmentally sound cultural
practice guidelines, 3) develop improved propagation methods for hard to
propagate nursery plants, and 4) evaluate landscape woody nursery plant
cultivars, selections and breeding lines.
