The Catalog Department
In support of the University's mission of teaching, learning and research, the Cataloging Department of the Brown-Daniel Library is responsible for the organization and bibliographic control of all library resources acquired for its collections. All cataloged resources including print, electronic, government documents, and media appear in the library's online catalog.
The Cataloging Department classifies, processes ownership and assigns authority control for all purchases, donations and the free resources acquired by the library. It takes its job seriously, knowing that its work directly enhances the learning environment of the library patrons.
SERVICES
- Processes New Books and Media list, which is updated monthly with the latest additions to the library.
- Manages inventory control of print and microfilm collections.
- Responsible for processing discarded materials
