How do I know if a Hands on Nashville project meets UNIV1000 course requirements?  Be sure the HON project calendar states that it is a "TSU student" or "TSU Only" project!

UNIV1000 classes may choose others projects.  Projects that have 10 or more TSU students generally will have transportation provided.  Emails are sent with the exact meeting time and location for students in these projects.  You MUST check your email and check with your instructor for exact arrangements.

TSU shuttle: Students may utilize TSU shuttle service for projects at Bethlehem Centers and Preston Taylor. You MUST check your email for exact arrangements.

What if I need to arrive late or leave early from a project site?  Unless you have previous arrangements with the Point of Contact person, this is unacceptable. If you are unable to attend from start to finish, choose a project that better fits your schedule.

What if I can't attend the project I'm registered for?  Log into your member account from www.hon.org and remove yourself from the project immediately. Please don't wait until the last minute to do this. As long as you are registered, you are expected to be there. We count on you!

What do I do once I arrive at my project site?  TSU faculty or staff service as your liaison with the project site. Once you arrive at the site, a representative of that site or Point of Contact (P.O.C.), will greet your group, provide information, and provide direction.

How are my hours actually counted?  I want that credit!!!  You must be registered with HON for all projects attended, unless you arranged otherwise with your professor. Attendance is reported to HON and logged in your account. (Please allow about a week for hours to show up in your account. And don't worry, your professor knows this.)

Keeping track of my hours or how do I check my service hours?  Log into your member account from www.hon.org. Click "personal information", then "volunteer history".

I am not enrolled in the Service to Leadership course, but I want or need to complete service hours. Where do I go?  Visit www.hon.org. Click "volunteer", then "project calendar". Browse open (green dot) projects and register. You will need to create a HON account. Please note: Unless you are participating in a University-wide Service Day, transportation is not available.

What if an emergency occurs while I'm at my project site?  Locate and notify your P.O.C. immediately.
