Job Title: First-Generation Specialist
Coaching Mindset: I believe that coaching is about uplifting, encouraging, and motivating students to reach their fullest potential and to live out their purpose in life.
Higher Education Background:
- B.A. - Child Development & Family Relations: Kentucky State University
- Working on a Master’s Degree in Adult & Higher Education: Morehead State University
Interests and Hobbies:
- I enjoy spending quality time with my family and friends.
- I also enjoy singing, attending concerts, shopping, and bowling.
Top Life Defining Moments in Higher Education:
- My grandmother took gravely ill my junior year in undergrad. I lost focus on my education and ended up failing the entire semester. This caused me to end up on academic probation and lose my financial aid. After sitting out a semester to recover, I was able to reenroll and refocus because I was determined to not give up. I passed all my classes, landed on the honor roll, and regained my financial aid. A year later, I graduated with honors. Today, I am a proud 3rd generation KSU graduate.
When in College, I experienced:
- A balanced campus engagement life. I got involved on campus and in the community while maintaining good academic standing in order to earn my degree.
- I made sure to connect with administrators, faculty, and staff, and all resources that would benefit my future.
- I was part of a Black Greek Lettered Organization.
