Completion and Beyond

Supporting Students with 60+ Credit Hours

Whom Do We Serve?

This Activity supports students who have accrued 60 or more credit hours by encouraging them to continue to completion. Our staff recognizes there are many challenges when trying to graduate promptly, and we work with our students on developing methods to overcome those challenges. We help Juniors and Seniors enroll accurately in courses, keep up with deadlines, manage the stress of 15+ credit hour semesters, discover resources for academic excellence, and save money by graduating on-time. We also work with students who may be interested in graduate school.

What Do We Do?

Our primary goal is to facilitate prompt graduation, and we have other goals that go along with this. We aim to increase career readiness for our students. One has career readiness when one has gathered the knowledge, skills, and resources needed to enter and thrive in a career of one’s choice. To this end, we collaborate with the Career Center to connect first-generation students with resources for their major-related careers. This partnership complements our skills in preparing students to seek a relevant career as soon as they graduate from TSU.

We also support first-generation students who have an interest in pursuing graduate school, which brings its own unique learning curve. For graduate school, things like admissions requirements, financial aid, housing, and course registration are all very different from the undergraduate experience, and we can help answer any questions you may have. All told, we aspire to ensure our students have everything they need to succeed up to and after graduation.

Like every Activity in The You First Project, we are a judgment-free space that is here to make your first-generation experience more fulfilling and rewarding! If you would like to connect with us, please feel free to Meet Our First-Generation Specialists.
