Circulation
Students, faculty and staff must have a valid TSU ID to check out library materials. Undergraduate students may check out 10 books at a time; graduate students may check out 20 books at a time. Persons with a valid Tennessee driver's license may register for check-out privileges and borrow four books at a time. Books may be renewed via telephone.
Books are borrowed on a three-week loan period by students and staff. Faculty may borrow books for one semester which may be subject to a recall policy. There is a late charge (fine) ten cents pay day per book. After a five-day grace period, the fine is sixty cents on the sixth day increasing by ten cents per day after that. As a courtesy, overdue notices will be sent to borrowers. Holds are placed on Banner accounts for excessive over dues and fines, (i.e. books more than sixty days late and fines of more than ten dollars). Banner accounts must be cleared at the Circulation Desk before students can register, graduate or have transcripts issued.
Reference, Reserves and Special Collections and Archives materials do not circulate outside the library building.
RESERVES
The reserve materials in print format are housed in the Circulation Department. Requested materials must be checked out via the system with a valid TSU I.D. Card. Faculty members may place copies of personal or library books and other course related material on reserve. Electronic reserves, using Docutek ERes System is the main method for placing articles, book chapters and other materials for student access. Contact the Circulation Department for more information.
