The President's Inaugural Scholarship Gala will serve as Tennessee State University's signature event to assist with scholarship fundraising efforts. More than 1500 guests attend the scholarship gala each year to acknowledge deserving students who demonstrate the need for assistance to help fulfill their dreams of earning a quality education at Tennessee State.

This year's gala takes on a special meaning as it culminates activities for the inauguration of Dr. Glenda Baskin Glover as the institution's eighth president. The evening promises to be a memorable and exciting one for all who attend, especially for our students and sponsors.

The success of the President's Inaugural Scholarship Gala will be driven by the generosity of our community partners, alumni, and friends. You can make a difference for current and future generations by helping to sponsor this event.

Maximilian A Cole's dream of one day helping poor children in his Chicago hometown receive an education is already coming through. The former Tennessee State University student leader and senior Political Science major joined "Teach for America" following graduation in May.

Parris Malone always wanted to be a teacher from as far back as she could remember. From the moment she stepped into her first-grade classroom until she finished high school, she knew that a career in education was what she wanted to pursue. Her ultimate goal is to eventually become a university professor and teach history.

Tennessee State University senior Communications major Jer'Mykeal McCoy has landed a unique opportunity to report for The Tennessean. The Knoxville native will participate in a federal judicial system reporting project to cover the federal courts as student reporters for the newspaper.
