Ecumenical Prayer Breakfast

The Inaugural Ecumenical Prayer Breakfast is a service of fellowship bringing together leaders of the faith community to impart well wishes and solidarity to President Glenda Glover and the TSU community. This interfaith observance will be held in the Farrell Westbrook Building (the “Barn”). This event is invitation only.

Inaugural Symposium

The Inaugural Symposium will provide a forum for discussion of the Common Core Standards at the federal, state and local level in its deployment, teacher preparation, curriculum development and impact on higher education in the state of Tennessee. The symposium will be held at the Avon Williams Campus Auditorium. The event is free and open to the public.

President's And Legacy Societies Luncheon

The President’s and Legacy Societies Luncheon is designed to recognize the generosity and support of alumni and friends at the President’s Society level with gifts of $1,000 and above over the last year, and those who have participated at the Legacy Society level with an endowed or planned gift of $10,000 and above. The luncheon will be held at Jane Elliott Hall. The event is by invitation only.

"From the Rough"  Reception & Movie Premiere

“From the Rough” will feature an evening of entertainment and networking at an exclusive VIP reception followed by the 6:45 p.m. presentation of the inspiring film, “From the Rough.” The film is based on the true story of Dr. Catana Starks, a former Tennessee State University swim coach, who became the first woman ever to coach a college men’s golf team. With drive, passion, and guts, she took an unruly group of mismatched kids from around the world and guided them to an all-time record at the PGA National Collegiate Minority Championship. The film stars Taraji P. Henson as Coach Starks, as well as Tom Felton, Michael Clarke Duncan and LeToya Luckett. The film was co-written by Michael A. Critelli and Pierre Bagley and directed by Bagley. The event will be held at the Avon Williams Campus in the atrium. The movie will be shown in the auditorium. The event is by invitation only.

Alumni Blue Out Mixer

Step out of the white and into your most electric TSU “Blue” as Tennessee State University celebrates a New Century, New Direction for Excellence. The Alumni Blue Out Mixer will be a night of festive fun as alumni and friends come together to support a worthy cause - The President's Challenge. The event will be held at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel in the Presidential Ballroom. Admission is $10 in advance, and $15 at the door.
