Virtual Computing Lab

Virtual Computing Lab Implemented with Help from IBM

Tennessee State University is the recipient of a grant from IBM to pay for part of the implementation of the hardware to support the new Virtual Computing Lab (VCL).  VCL is a method of providing computing resources to off and on campus users through the efficient use of hardware and software resources.  The primary goal of a VCL is to provide a dedicated computer resource to a users for a limited time.

Software for the VCL was developed at North Carolina State University and the source code was donated to the Apache Software Foundation (ASF) to expand the use of VCL and to support ongoing development in the open source community of ASF.

The VCL will be implemented on the TSU campus this summer with a variety of applications and environment being made available to students in academic programs.  More information will be available later this summer.
