This M.S. assistantship in Agricultural Sciences is available for a prospective graduate student interested in working in the area of agricultural communications and will be co-advised by Dr. Jason de Koff and Dr. Alyssa Rockers.  In addition to research, the student will engage in working with a team to promote programs within the Southern Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education Program (SARE) (https://southern.sare.org/).  This will include the following:

  • Coordinate and attend SARE training programs with the team.
  • Work with the content providers (faculty, private sector, 1862 partner, government, NGOs, and farmers) and SARE leadership to develop effective programs.
  • Engage in program evaluation and necessary proposals and reports.
  • Assist with designing educational and training materials, in a variety of formats, for sustainable programs
  • Design marketing materials for Southern SARE and Tennessee Southern SARE programs
  • Maintain the Tennessee SARE website and regularly post to Tennessee SARE social media platforms
