Bio: Dr. Donna Kenerson has been a registered nurse for over 40 years with broad experience in public health and the design and implementation of community-based health promotion and disease prevention programs. She was awarded a fellowship through the National Institutes of Health, National Cancer Institute where her research centered on cancer prevention and control among underserved and vulnerable populations. This work addressed factors associated with cancer that included diet, physical activity, and inflammatory biomarkers. Her most recent studies used behavioral theories to examine the low rates of clinical trial participation among African Americans.  As an educator, Dr. Kenerson has been involved in MSN course development at Tennessee State University and the TNeCampus consortium. She has taught in both the undergraduate and graduate nursing programs. Dr. Kenerson currently teaches and serves as the MSN Program Director.
