BIO

Prof. Victor Deaton is an Adjunct Professor of Philosophy at Tennessee State University (TSU). His graduate work focused on the implications of determinism as it relates to morality and reason, which included the latest arguments and evidence from both physics and neuroscience related to this topic. He specializes in philosophy of religion, ethics, and natural theology, while maintaining interests in logic, metaphysics, and existentialism.

Prof. Deaton is currently a Registered Nurse (R.N.) working at TriStar Summit Medical Center. In addition, he is a former English Teacher for Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools; and a bartender/bartending instructor, winning the Professional Bartending Schools of America Instructor of the Year award for 2006. He has also been a recording, touring, and gigging musician (drummer), who still enjoys the music and virtuosity of Allan Holdsworth, Chick Corea, Vinnie Colaiuta, Steely Dan, Earth, Wind & Fire, Sting/The Police, etc.
