COMPUTER SCIENCE PROGRAM CURRICULUM The CS Department offers a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science. A minimum of 120 semester credit hours are required for completion of the Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science. The distribution of these credits are outlined below. In addition to the course work, each student must complete a Practicum training. 41 credit hours of courses from Communication, Humanities/Fine Arts, Social Science, History, Natural Sciences, and Mathematics are known as the General Education Core courses. These courses are specified by Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR) and are mandatory courses for all students that attend any higher educational institute that is in the TBR System. The total required 48 credit hours of computer science courses consist of 15 credit hours from lower level(100, 200) courses and a minimum of 27 credit hours from upper level (300, 400) courses. Total of all upper level credit hours is 27 + 9 (technical elrctive) = 36.
