Welcome to the Freshman Class of 2021!

Housing Applications for Fall 2017 First-Time Freshmen will be available March 1! The Priority Period for both First-Time Freshmen and Transfer/Readmit Students will be from March 1 to June 1, 2017. Students who DO NOT complete a housing application during this time period will have to complete a Waiting List Application. On-Campus Housing Placement cannot be guaranteed to students who complete the Waiting List Application.

In order to be eligible to apply and move-in to your assignment you must:

  1. Be officially admitted into the University
  2. Register for Destination TSU www.tnstate.edu/orientation
  3. Submit Immunization Records to Student Health Services by JULY 1, 2017 http://www.tnstate.edu/campus_life/healthservices.aspx
  4. Apply for Housing (see steps below!) and pay your $100 non-refundable deposit
    1. Your Housing Application is not complete until the $100 non-refundable deposit is paid

Welcome Back, Returning TSU Students!

Steps to Apply for On Campus Housing:

1. Log in to your myTSU Student Account

2. Click on the "Banner Services" tab.

3. Click on "Student"

4. Click on "Housing"

5. You will be redirected to RMS to apply. You must make a payment in order to successfully submit your application for assignment.

Tips & Tricks! - Housing Application

Q: How can I request a roommate? 

A: Roommate requests cannot be guaranteed. HOWEVER, there are certain ways you can optimize your chances of receiving a requested roommate. These tips are listed below!

  1. Roommate Requests must be mutual (meaning, both roommate must request one another back)
  2. Students with Roommate Requests must include this Roommate Request on the Housing Application, at time of submission of the application
    1. If you contact our offices asking to add a roommate AFTER you submit your application, there is a possibility we have already begun to process your application. If your application is already in processing to an assignment, we may or may not be able to add your request.
  3. All Requested Roommates MUST complete their Housing Application during their respective Priority Period (listed above).
  4. If you are participating in a Special Interest Group (SGA, SUB-G, Athletics, Honors College, etc.), roommate requests must appear on the Special Interest Group roster that is submitted by your Coach or Advisor. Make sure you communicate any special roommate requests to these individuals prior to April 15, 2017.
  5. If you are having trouble searching the name of your requested roommate, try ONLY entering in the T Number on the application. Make sure you are using the format T00123123. Sometimes the system cannot find your requested roommate if you are using or omitting the middle name!

Q: "My payment won't go through on the pay portal" OR "I keep getting an error message that states "Duplicate request rejected"'

A: The Pay Portal that is used will check to ensure that the billing address for your credit/debit card matches what is submitted on the computer screen. This is the policy of the TSU Bursar's Office and is for the university's security. If the billing address on the screen is not IDENTICAL to the billing address for your credit/debit card, then you will receive a message through the pay portal that reads "Duplicate request rejected."

You may be able to adjust the address listed on the screen to read the correct billing address for the card. However, if you continue to encounter this same error message, you will need to contact your bank to verify the address that is associated with that particular credit card.

Lastly, you do have the option to use an e-check or Electronic Check to make your $100 non-refundable housing deposit. In order to do this, you simply need your bank account and bank routing number. This information can be found on any blank check, and is sometimes available on you billing statement. If you only know your bank account number, you can use Google to find out your bank routing number (It is usually the same for each bank in the entire state!)

Example: If you set up your bank account with Regions Bank in Nashville, go to google and type in "Bank Routing Number for Regions Bank Nashville." Many times, you can get the information right there!

Meal Plan Options
On Campus Residents will select a Meal Plan option through the Housing Application via myTSU. However, Commuter Meal Plans or Meal Plan Increases can be completed using this form.
