TSU Television, the on-campus television station of Tennessee State University, has been developed, produced and is operated by the students of Tennessee State University, primarily in the Communications Department, a part of the TSU College of Liberal Arts. TSU Television is seen in the dorms and other buildings of Tennessee State University, located on the west side of Nashville, Tennessee.

STUDENT-RUN MEDIA OPERATIONS

TSU Television News is part of the TSU News Network, the student-run media operations of Tennessee State University. TSU-TV News "Live at 5" airs live on the campus cable system Wednesdays at 5 p.m. through the Fall and Spring school semesters (and gets several rebroadcasts). This television newscast is reported, anchored, produced and directed by students. TSU Television News is broadcast from the TSU Television Studios, located in the Performing Arts Center on campus.

TSU Television News students work in a state of the art studio with two sets and a multi-level digital control room. Students can edit digital video using Avid Media Composer or Final Cut Pro video editing applications. A faculty advisor oversees content and production.

OTHER PROGRAMS

  • "Sing It or Wing It" is a 'finish the lyrics' game show produced by the Entertainment Production class (COMM 3750).
  • "The Presidential Address" is an interview program with TSU President Glenda Glover where students' questions for administrations are answered and TSU Administrators are able to share news and information with students.
  •  A sports highlights/magazine show featuring all the action from the TSU Tigers and the rest of the Ohio Valley Conference is regularly produced.
  • "One Shot with M.J." is a dating gameshow hoping to spark romance and taped live in our TSU Television studios.
  • "Next In Line" is a music showcase featuring live performances and a live audience. Look forward to more of this exciting new program in the coming semesters.
  • "Live With Miss Jaz" is a talk-show that features the latest topics affecting TSU students.
