Abu N. M. Wahid, Ph.D., is a Professor of Economics at Tennessee State University. He became the editor of the Journal of Developing Areas, in 2002. Up until now, he has published six books as author, editor, and co-editor. In addition, Dr. Wahid made nearly 70 publications in the form of refereed journal articles and book chapters. He received many research awards including Fulbright research grant. He is the recipient of faculty excellence awards for research at Tennessee State University and Eastern Illinois University. Dr. Wahid has visited academic institutions in about 25 different countries to give keynote addresses, public lectures and seminar presentations. So far, he examined 20 Ph.D. dissertations as external examiner for various universities in Singapore, Australia, South Africa, India, Pakistan, Malaysia, and Bangladesh. Periodically he reviews articles for prestigious academic journals such as Energy Policy, Economic Modeling, Applied Economics, The Manchester School, etc.
