Insights from Three Decades in Business



John Bennett is from Ila, GA, and moved to Nashville to attend Belmont University to earn a degree in finance. After spending time in the music industry, he began a career in banking. For the last 28 years, he has worked with hundreds of successful business owners. He was the Market President of First Citizens Bank, Tennessee Market President of Republic Bank, and currently serves as the President of Renasant Bank for Middle Tennessee - Davidson County. John has served as the Chairman of the Business Advisory Board at Nashville State Community College for the past 22 years, is a member of the McGavock Coalition, the Donelson-Hermitage Chamber of Commerce (Past President), and is a lifetime member of the Country Music Association. John enjoys sharing the wisdom he has learned from all his years of working with successful business owners. He has been a featured speaker at the Nashville Entrepreneur Center, and the Donelson-Hermitage Chamber of Commerce, has represented Renasant Bank in speaking to women business owners and has been featured on Nashville News Channel 5’s “Talk of the Town” speaking about the new book he released in September of 2021 entitled “Build It Right: Wisdom for Business Owners and Those Who Want to Be.”

Dr. Christos A. Makridis
Associate Research Professor

The Future of AI and Banking



Dr. Christos A. Makridis is an Associate Research Professor at Arizona State University, a visiting faculty at the University of Nicosia, a Professor at Vienna University of Economics and Business, a Digital Fellow at Stanford University, and a non-resident fellow at Baylor University. He is also a co-founder of Living Opera, a classical music multimedia startup, and CEO/founder of Dainamic, a financial technology startup. Dr. Makridis holds doctorates in economics and management science & engineering from Stanford University.
